ex libris

These book-based artworks and objects were subjected to alterations and manipulations that contradicted their essence. Books were rolled into bundles, encased in cement, and buried in salt. The traditional book format, known as a codex, was losing its functionality and this project could be seen the outcome of obsessive actions that preserved the physical objects but obliterate the stories and histories they contain for all. The project was born as a direct response to a life of declining vision and the expectation of blindness.
