This installation was comprised of a series of images etched into steel and framed with concrete slabs that formed a floating floor in the gallery to be walked on or around.and a video sculpture called the Blindfolded Sentry stood guard at the entrance of the space. The images were a series of 21 video stills that recreated a space that was documented while blindfolded — they showed tiles and concrete and the edges of rooms that had been demolished. Across the ground shadows of a searching, outstretched hand were cast, and when translated into a tactile experience, they created a sensory disconnect — they could be read by sight or by touch, but the foreshortened scale was particular to sight.
